A Problem For Oily Populists

Hope you got your permit to do that?Paul Hodes is scalp hunting BP over the Gulf Oil spill—even though BP ponied up 20 Billion already and has spent plenty trying to fix things besides.  Fine and dandy “but how do I use that for populist traction” cries Sugar Daddy Hodes.  “I need votes.”  His answer is another press release promising something or other—it doesn’t really matter with Hodes.  Anyway, what he should be doing, if in

He Went To Do Good And Stayed To Do Well

Anyone know were I can find the Tea Party? The saying is that "he went to Washington to do good and stayed to do well" and the first name that popped into my mind was Charlie Bass.  C-Bass epitomizes this ruling class cultural maxim.  He promised you term limits then changed his mind.  He became a Main Streeter, moderate fence sitters who abandoned principle for the lure of getting along in a place and a culture with a leftward tilt.  And after he was ousted from office he didn't come back to New Hampshire to help the GOP or to find a way to

Read This Now!

No, not my latest essay.  I'm not that arrogant.  I'm referring to (This!) by Angelo M. Codevilla at the American Spectator.  Every one should read it.  Everyone.   Here's the opening and I will leave you to trust me or not.

Keeping It Out There

Statist Liberal Progressive Socialist Collectivists democrats don't like this so naturally I had to post it.

Shea-Porter's Money "Don't Know Where It Came From"

Carol's LaundryMoney laundering is illegal unless you are in congress. Once you are a member in good standing you earn the privelege of access to a hoard of cash accumulated by the hundreds and hundreds of congressional PAC's fed by those buying influence. It is money that comes from lobbyists, special interests, the corporate culture of business big and small, unions, fringe groups, mainstream special interests, and everyone else.

Hodes + BP + Lobbyist + Rhetoric

Hey That's My Subsidy

No one doubts that BP has a responsibility to clean up after themselves but Paul Hodes has taken the opportunity to play word games and politics. Yesterday he announced that because of BP's complicity in the release of the Lockerbie Bomber they are no longer entitled to the tax cuts the government gives them out of the goodness of its frozen black little heart. Hodes calls them 'Tax subsidies. '

Two Of A Kind

Doh!John Lynch has a lot in common with governor Chet Culver of Ohio.  Chet said he would protect marriage as between a man and a woman and then Chet got all squishy.  Then he stood by and let the courts define marriage for him.

Carol's Union Label

What do you mean "read the bill?"Carol Shea-Porter would like you to believe that she represent New Hampshire. But if you are one of the 88% of those employed in New Hampshire who are not in a union or represented by one, (and that does not mean you want or like being in the union if you are) then odds are good you have no congresswoman.

John Lynch's Missing 18 Minutes

Where's the Speech?Do the people of New Hampshire realize that they have a governor who runs off in the cover of darkness to secret meetings with wealthy special interests, giving speeches about who knows what?

Do they know that money from many of these well heeled millionaires he just happened to be meeting with in secret has been finding its way into the state in large donations for years?

We'll Have A Gay Old Time

Tim GillIt should be common knowledge that Governor Lynch attended a secret gay-donor confab in Chicago back in May.  But no one was supposed to know.

Democrats Deem 2011 Budget Passed

According to Human Events late last night the Democrat majority Congress attached a document which 'Deemed as passed' a 1.12 trillion dollar budget.  The document was attached to the War supplemental bill and approved on partisan lines (despite bi-partisan objection) 215-210.

It will come as no surprise to New Hampshire residents that both Paul Hodes and Carol Shea-Porter voted to approve HR1500 and the 1.12 trillion dollar slush fund with which they apparently intend to continue the operation of the federal government.

Carol Is Still Batting .980

Carol “98%” Shea Porter surprised several people when she offered to co-sponsor HR 1207, the Audit the Fed Resolution.  The bill, sponsored by Republican Ron Paul would require an audit of the not so independent “independent” central bank.

The Hob Goblins who run the Fed were not interested in an audit for obvious reasons.  As the manipulators of monetary policy they were and are responsible for trying to manage the boom bust cycle or more appropriately (and more likely) causing it. But they were still part of the government, so for Carol to step up and make even a token gesture was unexpected.

Or was it?

Drop Dead Fed

In the most recent issue of National Review Gary Wolfram, Professors of Economics and Public Policy at Hillsdale College wrote this in regard to Mises and Hayek's Austrian business-cycle theory.

"You Must Claim To Have Balance Daniel-san"

State Senator Maggie "the red" Hassan had a puff piece in the New Hampshire Sunday News to defend the NH democrats “balanced Budget.”  We can tell right away that Ms. Hassan is going to take us on a fanciful journey because of her opening clause.  “Scarce resources make for difficult budgets…”  It is from this launching pad that we are taken on a magical tour into denial.

At no point does Ms. Hassan remind us that under democrat rule the process was and always has been to spend first and look for revenue later.  (Book of Eaton, chapter 1 verse 1.)

1:1 'It makes sense to know how much you're spending before you decide how much money to raise.'
