Democrats and Governor Lynch, facing massive deficits, have effectively raised taxes almost 87 times in the last 4 years. Rep. Almy of the House Ways and Means Committee is still dreaming up ways to tax NH residents even more.

Rainwater Tax: What will they think of next?

As absurd as this sounds, it’s for real. Apparently NH has come up with the bright idea to impose a “rainwater runoff tax” on homeowners.
One can only imagine homeowners running the tax assessors off their property when they try to measure their rainwater transgressions to determine how much ‘tax’ they will pay.

CNHT Joins NTU in Opposing Cigarette Tax

Today, The Coalition of NH Taxpayers joined the Granite State Taxpayers in opposing the NH Legislature’s potential to hike the cigarette tax by signing on to a letter to the Legislators from the National Taxpayers Union.

Judge rules against state’s use of medical fund to offset budget

A Superior Court judge has rejected New Hampshire’s claim a medical malpractice fund is an agency of the state.
Judge Kathleen McGuire’s ruling Thursday appears to undermine the state’s argument it can use a $110 million surplus in the New Hampshire Medical Malpractice Joint Underwriting Association fund to balance the newest state budget.
