The Australian government is after a man who lives in the US because he posts satire on the internet and the kangaroos are offended, a 200-year-old cheese rolling race has been canceled due to health and safety concerns, the Downsizer Dispatch, the NH legislature debates whether to make milk or cider the official drink of the state, and the Venezuelan government wants to crack down on the internet.

Creative Destruction

What was once a mainstay of the home entertainment zeitgeist is about to be altered, perhaps forever.  Blockbuster has announced that it may have to file for chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.  Apparently the once mighty rental giant does not fall into the too big to fail category nor does it qualify for some kind of TARP-like bailout.  Of course Blockbuster backing down on a buyout of Circuit City retail stores saw the end of that national chain, so it almost seems appropriate that the management of a company that would even consider buying

We Still Hold These Truths

Matthew Spalding from the Heritage Foundation is an expert on the Founding Fathers, the Constitution, Political Institutions, Political History and Citizenship and it is evident on every page of his book, 'We Still Hold These Truths.'  This thing is crack for liberty lovers, and if you don't already own a copy order one now, or stop and pick one up this weekend.

Mr. Spalding takes us on a tour of the thinking behind the concepts of liberty and why they are worth defending.  The book is very readable, and worth every moment of your time.

Health Dare

So we’re down to this.  Do you dare vote for the trash barrel bill that is pretending to be health Care reform?  Can you countenance your constitutional obligation to defend your constituents from the government by voting for something that Speaker Pelosi declares we cannot begin to know the details of until after the vote is already cast?

Constitutional Gut Check

This Wednesday the New Hampshire House may get the opportunity to vote on HB 1343, AN ACT establishing a joint committee on the constitutionality of acts, orders, laws, statutes, regulations, and rules of the government of the United States of America in order to protect state sovereignty.

Left Wing Assassins

I think I just found some of that violence Chaz is always talking about.   But it comes from the left. We are not surprised.  The left did the Obama-hitler posters and beat up a conservative black man.   Most political violence comes from the left, so why not this?

The Climate Progrss Blog over at the Center for American Progress--a wildly left wing project--includes a comment where a poster asks "when the assassinations will begin" for the people who work for the Competitive Enterprise Institute.

No SWAG Worldview Review

Some commenter over at Blue Hampshire is wondering why there was no vendors area at the STEWARD communications conference at SNHU this weekend.  Apparently we conservatives are all about capitalism so we need to be capitalizing on it at every opportunity to justify their worldview of our own.  No one was hawking swag.  This seems to have unnerved some left wing corporatist.
