Walk Across America
Hello,
I am looking into possibly walking across the country (Westward). I don't want any publicity, but I do want to exercise our American Civil Liberties. I am a Ron Paul supporter, so I intend on carrying a Ron Paul sign in the hopes of spreading the message of liberty and of finding similar minded people along the way.
My thoughts were to possibly:
1) Open carry a small rifle or firearm of sorts.
2) Carry no state issued Identification Card.
(The guns and the no ID are add-ons, the walking and the liberty are my main focus)
Through this experience, I am hoping to regain the sence of patriotism that i grew up with but have lost during recent administrations. I am in my late 20's and out of shape, so it is not only my rights that need exercise. Also, I've lived abroad for about 7 years, and i'd like to get back in touch with the country and its people.
I am looking for any potential advice that you could give me. What are the potential legal perils? Is there anyone who has done this or something similar? Please email me or post something up here, I'll check back.
I found this forum on a google search, and I'm hoping that this question reaches the right audience.
I signed onto the FSP over a year ago, but i haven't moved to NH from CT as of yet. I intend to in the near future.
Thanks,
Wayne
