We have to strengthen our immune system to protect our body from getting sick. One way to strengthen our immune system is to monitor and control our diet or food intake. Avoid foods that are processed or those that are in can, or even those that are packed in supermarkets which could be damaged fruits or vegetables.

You must also get a daily dose of sunlight. Letting you body get vitamin D from the sun is a natural way to improve your immune system function.

People nowadays are more sleep deprived. Have you ever noticed that when you are constantly deprived of sleep, you are more prone to have colds or coughs? Aside from this, cortisol, which is the stress hormone, increases when we are deprived with sleep. This makes us more irritable and more tense than usual. Sleep restores hormones and cellular repair occurs while we sleep, therefore, it is really important to help our body cope with stress and heal itself.

Another classic advice way to stay healthy is to drink adequate amount of water, which is 8-10 glass a day or as research suggests, 1 ounce of water for every 2 pounds of body weight every day.

Meditation can also be of great help. Some people meditate daily for 5 to 30 minutes and they say that this helps them clear their minds. When you meditate, you have to tune in your body and just let your thoughts flow without really going deeper into them. Just close your eyes, breathe deeply, and relax your mind.

Lastly, surround yourself with the right people. There are some people who could cause enormous amount of stress in us and as soon as we realize that, we should learn to avoid them. Surround yourself with people who are important – your family, trusted friends, etc. Maintain a healthy relationship with this people and they would also help you maintain a healthy relationship with yourself.
